The Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC) was established as the Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) for the Tuolumne County Region in 1967 through a Joint Powers Agreement between the County of Tuolumne and City of Sonora. As the RTPA, the TCTC is the designated planning and administrative agency for transportation projects and programs for the Tuolumne County Region.

The Mission Statement of the TCTC is to develop a plan that reflects the needs, concerns and actions of all the agencies involved in the Region. To identify, develop and fund transportation improvements that meet the region’s mobility needs, contribute to the economic health of a region and preserve the environmental quality of the region.
