The
Alpine County Dial-A-Ride Program offers curb-to-curb, shared ride service where more than one passenger may be in the vehicle at a time. Dial-A-Ride services and reservations for rides are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Riders are encouraged to reserve local area rides 48 hours in advance, and rides to Reno and Truckee 7 days in advance. There are not pick-ups after 4:30 pm.
GUIDELINES
The Dial-A-Ride drivers provide the following helpful services when picking up and dropping off riders:
- Assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking of the vehicle, however passengers are responsible for loading and unloading items without assistance from the driver including groceries, luggage, etc. in and out of the vehicle. (If passengers require further assistance, one Personal Care Attendant may accompany them at no charge. Please advise upon making reservations.)
- Ensuring wheelchairs, scooters, etc. are properly secured within the vehicle.
As a courtesy to others and for safety reasons, drivers are prohibited from:
- Entering the passenger's home or other buildings.
- Leaving the vehicle or honking the horn to notify passengers of their arrival.
Operating Times and Fare Rates
Dial-A-Ride operates Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Traveling with Children
Passengers traveling with children must comply with car seat laws, provide their own car seat, and pay the appropriate fare for children.
Service Areas
Alpine County Dial-A-Ride travels to and from these areas:
- Markleeville, Woodfords, Hung-A-Lei_Ti
- Minden, Gardnerville, Dresslerville and South Lake Tahoe
- Carson City area
- Reno and Placerville (Medical and Social Security only)
Service Limitations:
- No service Bear Valley
- No service on county holidays or during inclement weather
