The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) in your area holds meetings that are open to the public.

The Amador County SSTAC goal is to maintain and improve transportation services to the transportation disadvantaged residents of Amador County. This is to be accomplished by coordinating or consolidating services whenever feasible if it can be shown to be efficient and effective, in terms of overall costs and number of people served and quality of service will be maintained or improved. The Amador County SSTAC meets every other month. Call the Amador Regional Transit Service at (209) 267-9395 for more information.

The Calaveras County SSTAC meets on an as-needed basis during the year to review information on possible unmet transit needs as part of the unmet transit needs process. Members and alternates of SSTAC are appointed by the Calaveras Council of Governments according to Section 99238 of the TDA Statutes and California Code of Regulations. The statute indicates a minimum of nine (9) members including:

Any qualified person who lives or works in Calaveras County may apply for membership on the Committee., call 745-2094 for information regarding the next SSTAC meeting. Also, the Volunteer Center of Calaveras volunteers help and assist many Calaveras County residents in finding rides to medical and other social services.

The Tuolumne County SSTAC meets on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Members are appointed by the Tuolumne County Transportation Council, with member categories established by state statute. These include representatives of older adults, people with disabilities, low-income individuals, and local social service providers (including transportation providers). The SSTAC represents an important venue for information-sharing and identification of coordination opportunities.
